Concept Art ☆。*

Probably my favorite thing to do in a project. I like exploring concepts and taking them as far as possible to see where it could go. I mainly enjoy doing character concept art, starting from an idea or a feeling that I try to capture in a moodboard alongside very vague sketches if an idea for a silhouette is already something I have a decent grasp on. After that, it's the usual song and dance of tweaking designs and color palettes here and there until the desired version of the character emerges from all those messy studies and sketches.
For character concept art, I tend to jump from traditional to digital media very regularly since both have their ups and downs. Traditional media allows me to have a much more expressive style, so concepts for shapes and actions come out easier. However, digital allows me a much more organized way of working with how easy it is to replicate, copy and paste images all together. Jumping around the two mediums of art allows me to experiment as much as I can afford to.

2024-...

After college, I focused on growing my portfolio but also indulge a bit in things I had to put aside for the sake of not falling behind on my studies. Now knowing more than just the basics, I started going all out on things like reference sheets for characters I created, and writing down all information I could about pet projects and universes I was passionate about.

2021-2024

These were made while I was still in college taking my animation bachelors, so most of the work here was done for assignments and group projects.
For my finals project, I animated a 3 minute short of a kindergarten kid who, after doing something bad at school, returns home and talks about it with the monster under her bed. For this project, I had to do concept art for everything; characters, backgrounds and props. It was a good exercise to force me to get out of my comfort zone but still work on something I was passionate about.

These were done for an animated videoclip for a concert; a sort of internship project between the college and a local band. I was tasked with designing two characters for the short, among other things. The animated videoclip would tell the story of a dancer who, alongside a caged lion, escape the circus they're forced to work at.

These concepts were done during the first year of college. They were created to go alongside a script for a short story of our liking, but it was never meant to be animated. The story was about a father who, after losing his wife, struggles with the sudden change of being a single parent.
