Maggy | 20 yo | all pronouns
Heyoo :] name's Margarida, but my online alias - and nickname - is Maggy. I'm a digital artist with knowledge in 2D animation, illustration and website design from lots of self-teaching and studies from high-school to college. I also like to stay in touch with the traditional side of art, so I'm always working on sketchbooks and traditional illustrations using mixed medias; paints, markers and collages being what I do most.
I've been drawing since I can remember. It was always an escapism for me that eventually turned into a hobby, that turned into something I knew I wanted to dedicate my lifetime to creating and uplifting. I knew I wanted people to see what I could make; what worlds and characters I could come up with and just how much I could create with my own hands for something I was passionate about.
When I'm not stuck at home animating or drawing, I like to stay in touch with the local culture of where I live. I grew up in a place where most things were thankfully an hour of public transports away, so I had the privilege to be able to see and try new things. I like to surround myself with friends who are also into arts, even if not the same fields as I am in. I am pretty active on social medias in an effort to keep up with internet culture, trends and news on topics and communities I'm interested in.
I only started properly studying arts at the end of high-school. I spent the last three years of high-school at Escola Artística António Arroio in Lisbon, Portugal to focus on my passion for animation and video editing. After that, I got into the Faculty of Design, Technology and Communication - IADE also in Lisbon to be part of the debut class for a Animationa and Visual Creation bachelor's degree. During my time studying, I've been making art commissions for people on social media as a sidegig to make a few bucks here and there.
After finishing my bachelor's, I tried to keep myself busy by learning new things and perfecting the ones I already knew. I got into webdesign, learning HTML and CSS by myself and made this very website from scratch. I also got into pixelart in an effort to tap into the potential of pixelated RPGs and other games with that aesthetic.
I made this website in an effort to have a proper place to link to people so they can see my portfolio and learn a little more about me. Plus, with the current trend of most major social medias limiting user profile customization, and the multiple AI scraping situations, I also found it a good excuse to make my own little hub.
