This is a fanmade DELTARUNE AU made by yours truly! It's a take on a "What If" scenario where Spamton got his third chance at greatness and grabbed it by the horns, making a mess so big that the game itself and the rules of the DELTARUNE world are falling apart all due to one man's wishes to keep living.
In this 2nd round in Cyber City, the Fun Gang need to get a hold of Spamton - or Gary as he goes by now - in the middle of a brand new, rebranded city. New faces, new enemies and new risks await our heroes, as a looming figure roams around the brand new TV News Studio, eager to get his hands on this Gary guy and put the timeline back in order. With two routes and a secret boss to explore, there will be many new faces to meet, to love and to absolutely despise. But hey, we were the ones allowing Spamton to live after the Spamton Sweepstakes, so might as well own up to it.
Yep. Not even gonna try to deny it, this started as one of those Spamton EX projects, but quickly evolved into something much, much bigger! There’s plenty of original characters to meet, takes on characters you already know and love, new enemies, NPCs, interactions, items, there’s just so much to go around, even if you don’t enjoy the little trash man.
But if you’re here for the Spamton stuff, boy do I got lots of content for you. This one took a new name and shape, rebranding himself as Gary, the owner and news anchor of a giant news station. He’s still as paranoid, still as cunning, but turn the uneasiness up to 200%. He’s one mean bastard I hope you enjoy the reimagining of.
As of the time of writing this, there are no plans to make this into a game! It’s simply not something I would even know how to make or produce. I have no competences in coding games, and I’ve just barely tapped into making sprites and pixel art to replicate the game’s artstyle.
However, I also told myself I wouldn’t be learning coding for the sake of presenting this project in an interactive way. Well, we’re on Neocities now, so that proves that nothing is out of reach. Not in the plans, but not impossible either.
For now, I plan on showcasing this AU in the form of illustrations, short written stories and in interactive ways, like hiding lore inside a blog or post. I want to make this somewhat interactive, even if I’m aware I didn’t quite cultivate an audience who’d be attentive to that. Here’s hoping the big brains who figured out many of the secrets in the Spamton Sweepstakes event find this!
Yes, the Acid Theory is canon to this au. It was only recently that I realised this was such a divisive topic; it was a plot line that came very naturally to me while watching the game and Sweepstakes. Regardless, the whole situation will be mentioned here and there in the AU since it’s the focal point in the fallout of two characters in the project. No graphic content will be illustrated or shown of the incident not to step on any sensitive media, though it will be hinted and explored in writing.
Yeah about that. If you don’t know who these are, Wendy and Milford were going to be characters for the project; one as a mini-boss and another as a shopkeeper. However, as I was writing down the storylines for each route of the chapter, there wasn’t any way I could smoothly insert these two characters into the story. So, for now, they’ll remain as non-canon additions to the world. They’re both characters who by nature are very hidden from the public eye. So, if it makes you feel any better, just imagine that they’re still around during the plot, just not in sight.
