Elodie

" Yo check this one out!! It still has all its limbs! Let's TAKE IT APART! "

- Elodie

Elodie is a Blotling disguised as a Toon that lives in Wasteland. She appeared in Mean Street after the Thinner Disaster, but was quickly exiled when other Toons suspected her of being a Blotling. She currently lives in MickeyJunk Mountain with Adelaide and M1N-US.

In-game, she would've been a character severely affected by the game's Playstyle Matters/morality system. In the Hero route, she would've ended up being more honest about her Blotling origins, but has proven herself different from other Blotlings. In the Wastelander route, she would've still kept it a secret from most people, but Mickey but still disappear at the game's end. In the Scrapper route, Elodie would've been consumed by The Blot's will and would have turned on Adelaide and M1N-US.

Profile

Appearence

Elodie is a vaguely cat-shaped Toon. Her body has the proportions of old 1920s "rubberhose" cartoons, though she seems to be constantly melting or dripping from most of her features and clothes. Her skin is a warm pink color, with her face being closer to a salmon color. She has purple pie-cut eyes, the inside of her mouth being the same purple. She has pointy cat ears and sharp points on her cheeks to resemble tufts of hair. Her body is small, her torso a bean shape with wriggly arms and legs in the same shade of pink. She does not have a tail.

Elodie wears a small hat in a deeper pink color, with a purple ribbon wrapped around the base. A string with a 4-point, yellow star shape sprouts from the side of the hat. She also wears a skirt in the same deeper pink shade with a white underside. She has no gloves or shoes.

Her color palette can change to reflect how she's been affected by the player's Playstyle Matters, though the colors described above are the ones she's seen most often in.

Personality

Elodie is a spontaneous, bouncy toon. She manages to hide her real identity fairly well, even if she still struggles not to be immediately hostile towards new toons, as most Blotlings are. She tends to joke around the topic of why she looks the way she does, being quick to lie on the spot about it. She'll say she was "bleached and molten" by the Thinner Disaster, giving that as a reason as to why her colors and body seem to be warped and so different from other Toons. She also uses that as a reason for how she has her powers. Elodie is a trickster, a hard Toon to get through to and convince to take anything seriously. Being secure of her future and of The Blot's impending reign over Wasteland, there's very little that scares or worries her. Even so, with time, she grows to see Adelaide and M1N-US as some sort of family members. Depending on what route the player would take, that relationship would either be reinforced or shattered. The only thing Elodie fears is being forced to take things seriously, to not hide behind jokes and trickery and to lay her feelings out bare for other Toons to see.

Story

Elodie appeared in Wasteland shortly after The Thinner Disaster. She spawned in Mean Street as a Blotling, moving along with the rest of the Blotling Army. Once Oswald and other Toons started to fight back, sealing The Blot away in the Jug, Elodie learned how to shapeshift to disguise herself as a Toon and not get swept away with the rest of her kind. She chose to disguise herself as a cat since she noticed the only one she'd seen around had vanished after The Blot was sealed away. She never managed to hide how hostile she was towards other Toons, but managed to disguise it with mean-spirited jokes, jabs and even pranks. Even so, other residents of Mean Street never fully trusted her and kicked her out for suspicions of being a Blotling.

Elodie eventually found a home in MickeyJunk Mountain, as she guessed it would've been empty of other Toons, though she was quickly proven wrong. She soon realized Oswald was now living in the mountain, secluding himself from other Toons to keep a close eye on the Jug and The Blot trapped inside. Elodie made a few attempts to free the Blot but was never successful, not being able to get past Oswald and his defenses. Still, she settled herself amongst the trash heaps of MickeyJunk Mountain and called it her new home.

There, she first met Adelaide, a Toon who'd travelled to MickeyJunk Mountain looking for her missing body parts that had been washed away during the Thinner Disaster. Being very much opposites of each other, the two bickered a lot, even if they were each other's only company. They managed to make a home out of the things that washed down the mountain, and now reside there together. They were eventually joined by M1N-US, a robot assistant made by Adelaide to help them during scavenging missions and other quests around the mountain.

Hero

During the Hero route, Elodie would be encouraged to tell Adelaide about her true nature, being assured by Mickey that, as its friends, they would understand and love Elodie regardless. During the last battle against the Blot, Elodie can be seen fighting off Bloticles and saving other Toons from other Blotlings. Her Toon disguise would be ripped from her, forcing her to fight as a Blotling alongside Toons. At the end of the game, she's seen reverting to her disguised form but less scared to be her true self around other Toons, Adelaide and M1N-US.

Wastelander

During the Wastelander route, Elodie doesn't tell Adelaide and M1N-US about her true identity, but it is implied that they figure it out by small slip-ups and hints Elodie leaves for them to find. At the end of the game, Elodie disappears from Wasteland. It is implied that she might've moved to either Blot Alley or Disney Gulch alongside the remaining Blotlings.

Scrapper

During the Scrapper route, Elodie would've kept her true nature a secret, even if she showed signs of wanting to protect her new friends from what she knew would be coming once The Blot was freed. During the final stage of the game, Elodie would succumb to the Blot's will and revert to her original form. She would be a mini-boss in MickeyJunk Mountain, similar to Slobbers. She could be defeated or redeemed, but would still melt away at the end of the game once The Blot was defeated.

Relationships

Adelaide

Weird, annoying big sis. Being opposites of each other, Adelaide and Elodie bicker a lot. Adelaide tends to take everything seriously and be very straight to the point, meanwhile Elodie just goes with the flow in a sometimes dangerous carelessness. Elodie misses the freedom of being able to live by herself, but is too stubborn to leave Adelaide's side. Despite their constant nagging of each other, they still care about each other a lot, having more than once jumped into dangerous situations to save or help each other out. Elodie's constant bickering comes from a place of being scared of being honest, so when she finally pushes herself to that point, her and Adelaide's relationship becomes much stronger, even if they still can't see eye-to-eye on some things. During the Hero route, Adelaide is the first one to stand by Elodie's side once she reveals she's a Blotling while protecting other Toons. During the Wastelander Scrapper routes, Adelaide is the most affected by Elodie's disappearance or betrayal, depending on the route.

M1N-US

Elodie's turn to be the big sis, but worse. Having helped create Min, Elodie feels intitled to do as she pleases with it. She used Min as a fetching, cleaning, allpurpose robot and not so much as another part of the family. With enough time though, she started being a little nicer to the robot, ceasing her usual pranks and demands to try and stop her from being just Adelaide's assistance and give her some freedom of her own. She was the one who started calling it "Min" and "Mints" instead of the acronym Adelaide had named her.
