Becky

Becky is a Lightner that is first encountered in the LunaLand Dark World, being its ruler and protector. She's Lil' Telly's owner in the Light World and party companio in the Dark World.
During the events of "Stay Up Late", Becky is revealed to be dead, being a spirit given a Darkner form through the LunaLand Dark World.

Profile

Appearence

Becky is a small child-sized Lightner with the appearence of a beetle. She's completely pink safe for the lower half of her face, which is white. Her head is small and round with two beetle pincers that serve as horns on top of her head. Her nose is thin and long, bifurcated at the tip. She has tall but thin eyes remeniscent of moe anime eyes. Becky has four arms with small sharp hands, her legs ending in bifurcated bug-like feet. She has a long thin tail that ends on an "E" shape pointing outwards. Her whole body is segmented like a bug's and covered in pink chetin.

She's dressed in a white leotard with a yellow collar, a silver heart sitting in the middle of her collar. She also wears a pleated skirt in a dull green-blue color with a yellow waist band. She also wears a pair of knee-high boots in the same green-blue color with a yellow border at the triangular top pointing downwards.

Personality

Becky is a bubbly little girl, optimistic to a fault. Like most 9 year olds, Becky is a curious though ingenuous kid. Her world views can be limited by her equally limited life experiences and influences. Even so, her will to do what she believes to be right is commendable. She takes her sense of justice from the cartoons and shows she sees on the telly; simple but right most of the time. Still too young to understand the calamity of things, she'll always aim to do the right thing, even if sprinkled with the usual magical girl enthusiasm.

Main Story

History

[SPOILERS AHEAD]
Becky is a Lightner child who used to be Lil' Telly's owner, before the two were separated by Gary's attempts at escaping his own dimension.

Becky was a girly girl, in love with everything pink and fantastical with a huge love for magical girls. She lived at her parent's house in Hometown, attending fourth grade school at the local school. She didn't have much at home, no big toys or much love from her parents. Her most prized possession was a small CRT she painted pink by herself. It sat atop her drawers facing the bed. During the night, it would keep the small bug girl company as she couldn't sleep, playing late night cartoons on mute so her parents wouldn't know she was still awake. This late night browsing through channels was what led Becky to finding some of her favorite shows ever, mostly magical girls and their magical pets saving the day from evil interdimensional villains.

One night, Becky laid in bed, TV blaring fantastical adventures louder than usual as her parents fought in the other room. As she watched the show, already huddled inside the bedsheets, her little TV friend began to fail her, its screen flickering in and out as familiar footsteps hurried inside her bedroom. One moment she was there, the next she was gone. But she was sure someone was watching as she disappeared, eyes staring back at her through the TV screen.

Chapter 3 - Late Night

Becky is never mentioned by name or alluded to much. She's implied to be the kid from Hometown's school who one day stopped attending classes, the one whose parents gave Telly to Toriel. Telly's comment on how "everyone names her eventually" could also be a reference to Becky who, while in posession of Telly in the Light World, had given her a new name.

Lil' Telly

Becky's assigned Darkner and best friend.
Becky and Lil' Telly have been together for as long as the other can remember. Being part of Becky's bedroom up until her disapearence, both know the other like the back of their hand. They're unapolegetically girly friends who spent their time together playing pretend. Regardless of Lil telly's perception of their relationship, Becky already regarded her bedroom TV as a friend, someone who knew everything she did, who she could tell all her secrets and worries to; a friend who'd never snitch, never spill secrets, but would always be there during hard times as a lighthearted distraction. Now enabled to finally continue their adventures in LunaLand, Becky takes full opportunity of the situation to make their childhood dreams a reality; best friends fighting evil in a magical world, one episode at a time.

Lady Ovnee

The evil doer of their universe, a villain appropriate for a glittery wonderland.
Becky sees Lady Ovnee as a threat to LunaLand, though one capable of being defeated over and over again and let good reign supreme. She's always determined to stop Lady Ovnee's evil schemes, but never too serious about putting an end to her schemed for good - what would be the point of that? To leave their adventures without a villain to defeat everyday? Nonesense! Lady Ovnee is always offered a place in LunaLand as long as she quits her evil plans, but always refuses to join the party and remains a reocurring villain to Becky's anime life.

LunaLand Inhabitants

The wonderfully adorable inhabitants of their DarkWorld, hers and Lil' Telly's to protect.
Everyone in LunaLand is Becky's friend - besides Lady Ovnee and her evil minions - so she ends up getting along with all of them very well. Being other toys and objects in Becky's bedroom, they have the same connection to Becky as Telly, though to a much tamer degree. Still, they dot and praise on her every move, regarding her as the hero of thir little corner of the world.

• Becky is designed after beetles, most prominently stag beetles, known for their massive pincers and distinctive antennal lamella.
  
• Becky's original Lightner is not present in the game, though sprites for it can be found burried in the game's files. She's depicted as a brown beetle with a dark brown dress and a pink undershirt.
  
• It's suspected that Becky's voicebeep was sampled from an episode of Sailor Moon, using a voice clip of Chibiusa voiced by Sugar Lyn Beard.
