Mr.Sul
- Mr.Sul
Mr.Sul, or just Sul, is a shopkeeper exclusive to the Outsider Route, being accessible only if venturing into the outskirts of Cyber City. He runs a shady pharmacy with many questionable products, a reference to health and nutrition supplement scams on the internet.
Sul is also the leader of a small rebellion of people who have been wronged by Gary who, with the help of the player, break into the TV Studio Tower to use Gary's portal machine to return back to their original Dark Worlds.
Profile
Appearence
Sul is a short, bulky Darkner, much the opposite to other Addisons. He wears a v-neck grey shirt, black heeled pantashoes and a white unbuttoned lab coat. The left lapel of the lab coat has three small rectangular pins on the upper area; red, green and blue, from top to bottom. Both the v-neck shirt and the lab coat's sleeves are rolled up above his elbows. Sul wears a simple flat white mask with two openings for his eyes, a grinning gaping hole for the mouth area and red painted on cheeks. The holes for the eyes and mouth leave the face underneath completely black, the only visible feature of Sul's face being his left eyes, appearing as a white dot in the black void of the mask's left eye socket. Sometimes the edges of his cheeks and chin will be visible from behind his mask, the skin green or lime colored.
Sul's hair is slightly above shoulder length, the sides somewhat poofy as his hair is slicked to his left. The roots of his hair are white, which then shifts to green before shifting to black, which is the color of most of his hair. His skin is mostly white, acid burns covering his chest, lower arms and hands. The acid burns look like green, sharp edged patches that cover Sul's body. The scarred tissue itself is solid green, changing to lime green before meeting the white of unscarred skin. His shoulders are wide, arms are beefy; his hands being pretty big for his body and sporting thick but sharp edges that curve inwards. His legs look abnormally short for the rest of his body, though Sul carries himself very well despite it.
Personality
Sul is a cunning, opportunistic man. Like most Addisons, he’s a Darkner built for convincing with one goal in mind: sell you something. However, Sul isn’t one to not have his own desires and fantasies. Being someone who easily holds grudges, Sul’s intents and goals can easily become obsessions, even more if they’re fuelled by a need for karma, or revenge. Sul is also a smooth talker; he’ll try to make friends before making enemies, and by friends he means peons. Bodyguards, right-hand men, anything he could find use in having nearby. Knowing what someone wants helps, but knowing what someone needs is enough to convince them to do a lot. Sul is one to usually keep his word, even more if to convince someone to do his bidding, but he’s not above lying and ditching others to save himself. Despite how much charm he puts up, Sul is and will always be better described as a caged animal with pretty feathers. He’s scared of losing, but terrified of being wrong. He’ll fight and kick and bite his way into seeing his plans go through, showing little to no regard for the people who might have helped him get this far in the first place.
Main Story
History
Most companies have a face for their brand. For this sketchy skincare company, their pick of a handsome green Addison fit them just fine. He didn't have the morals nor the will for much more than money, turning a blind eye to the dubious "medicinal" practices of the company he worked at. With enough promoting and marketing, their lies of an all-solving miracle cure made it to the largest salesman in the city, who wanted to see such a strong selling strategy at work. The green Addison was sent out to do his job: convince someone else to invest in a dangerous fraud. Too enamored by his own ego and how close he was to reaching his goal, the Addison failed to notice the floor slipping from under his feet as he fell into Queen's Mansion's acid pools. Most believed the company known for cutting corners was at fault, but Sul was sure it was sabotage from the big shot himself.
With the face of their company ruined, Sul was dropped from his privileged place, losing everything in a moment's notice. In his mind, it was all that rich salesman's fault. He was too greedy, wanting the market all for himself instead of letting the little guys make it up the ladder too, like he'd once done. Sul managed to rebuild his life and self to some extent, choosing to lay low, but not away from the public eye. With the little he knew of medicine, he opened a pharmacy to run as he pleased. He still sees the salesman on TV, the man profiting off of new safety regulations that came from the disaster that took everything from him, still at the top of the food chain. Sul keeps to himself, quietly planning his revenge.
Sul was the first one to fall into Gary's world. Unlike most people, Sul had his entire shop one day simply transported somewhere else completely. One moment he was in his own Cyber City, and with a flash, he was somewhere else entirely. He immediately recognised the grinning face that filled the streets of the new metropolis. Or, he thought he did. Sul quickly realised this wasn’t his Cyber City, and whoever that was on the big screen wasn’t the Spamton he knew. Lucky enough to somehow have his whole pharmacy transported with him, Sul took it upon himself to go out and explore the new city by himself. After enough asking around, he gathered that this city was much like his; spilling over with Spamton - or Gary as he called himself now - and his influence. This one was a news host on the only TV channel available, some big towering celebrity, but a shut-in that never left his precious TV studio.
Sul figured that, much like last time, this was all the fault of the salesman, and his only way to getting back home was to talk to the man himself. Soon enough, he figured out that too would be a problem. Gary had no on-ground reporters, no representatives that walked among citizens, no way to talk to the little guys. He did soon notice the railway system that ran all around town and passed directly through the tower itself. So, he managed to get on board. He was shocked to see a kid running the thing, his prosthetic metal bits and wide grin immediately giving away whose son this was. The boy was too busy talking to the tour group to look directly at the other man. Their gazes locked for a split second as the kid scanned the small crowd. As soon as he got inside, Sul slipped away from the group and deeper into the TV Studio Tower. He found his way to the news set, but nobody was there; he found Gary’s office, but the door was locked. Not giving up hope, stubborn, he went lower and lower, soon realising that this wasn’t just a news studio.
As he got to the bottom of the building, he went into a basement; dusty colourless walls narrowed into a point of light at the end of the tunnel. Sul soon found an open room, the wall of debris and cables in front of him supporting an enormous machine, its winged carcass a power source to something much worse. As Sul got closer, he watched in a monitor as the machine looked for… something. It crackled with unstable power, images of so many places Sul didn’t recognise passing by. Until, suddenly, a glimpse of the day he felt the ground disappearing beneath his feet passed by. The day he’d lost everything… and it had been Gary’s doing. Whatever it was he was doing down there, Sul was sure it had been the cause of what happened to him. Enraged, Sul took down much of what he could before fleeing the scene, leaving the tower through the unused ground-level exit.
Since the revelation, Sul sticks to his pharmacy. He boils in his own angered ramblings and dark fantasies, eager for his chance to get his hands around Gary’s neck. Someone must have noticed his first break-in; security was enhanced, all ground-level entries to the TV Studio Tower locked up tight. He just needed to find another way inside. To his luck, that was when more people started falling in.
Chapter [[GARY]]
During the events of the Outside Route, Kris, while exploring the city on their own, find an open store; a lonely pharmacy at the edge of the city. When entering, Kris is met with a storefront. A masked pharmacist at the counter welcomes Kris into the shop. Talking to the man would make him introduce himself as Mr.Sul. He runs the pharmacy by himself, happy to provide “new and alternative miracle cures” for the miserable and the hopeless. This is the first shop of the route. When asking about the city, Sul will tell you it’s such a flashy place to live in, though Sul laments its ruler being such a distant person. When asking about the pharmacy, Sul will happily hype himself and his business up. He’s sure he’s got what you need plus what you don’t know you need yet.
When asking about Gary, including the fact that you’ve met the man, Sul will suddenly get very interested in you. He’ll be happily surprised that you know the man, and that you once were inside his broadcasting tower. With that extra information, Sul proposes a plan. He too has been trying to break into the tower. He mentions that there’s something he and his “team” need that’s buried deep deep down into the studio’s basement. He calls it “their ticket back home”. He proposes you two work together to break into the tower and, once that happens, you go your separate ways. The player is forced to agree to this deal since they already lost their first chance to snoop around inside the tower. With that settled, Sul tasks Kris with fetching the rest of the team for him; three other Darkners, two of them always sticking together. Once they can deliver the message to everyone, Sul will help them break into the place. With that, the player can leave the store and go off on their way.
Once the player has all Sul’s team members recruited and sent off, Sul waits for Kris at the previously discovered backdoor of the TV Stdio Tower to give them a somewhat heartfelt thanks for their help. He explains that this is something he’s been trying to do for much longer than Kris could ever imagine possible, and that Gary will pay for what he’s done… to everyone. Despite not being there to see Gary fall, it is implied that Sl was the one who sent the Additons after Gary once they broke into the studio, having a final laugh as he indirectly caused the man's demise.
Relationships
Gary
Sul hates his guts, he wants the man dead. In Sul's eyes, Gary is the reason for all his problems; he caused the incident that ruined his life, his career, his face. He daydreams about revenge, getting lost in it to a sickening point. So, when he gets warped into the exact city Gary rules, he's even more surrounded by his own thoughts. As the first one to fall in, Sul leads other people to follow in his viewpoint; that if that man were dead, all their problems would go away. While going through his own power trip, Sul fails to notice how he's becoming the very thing he's aiming to destroy. Or, perhaps, he turns a blind eye to it, believing it is all justified.
Ben
Sul doesn't blame Ben for what is happening but he's gotta go. It's gonna be a sad collateral damage and Sul knows that, but it won't hurt too much for him personally. He barely knows the kid, still spotting him doing tours around the city for customers, but not much more besides that. To Sul, Ben is just somebody else Gary hurt, but is too far intrinced in the mess that his dad made to be saved.
Kinder
Kinder was the second one to fall in, and soon he became Sul's first "friend" in the new city. Sul found him in the middle of the city, scaring people off. Being a smooth talker, Sul managed to cut through the defensive fear of the other Addison and convinced Kinder to tag along with him. Kinder is the muscle to Sul's brains, the brute scary bodyguard and his partner in crime, and Sul sees him as exclusively just that. Sul also learned ASL from Kinder.
Dollie
Dollie was the third one to fall in and scared the other two shitless at first. They also found her in the middle of the city, much less scared than the previous ones to fall in. It took Sul a while longer to convince Dollie to join their little group and to convince her that this was all the fault of one man. Like Kinder, she wasn't a talker, but she was also much harder to get through to. Eventually, with the promise of getting to return home, Sul convinced her to join them. She's the stealth of their team, being the reason why they manage to successfully sneak into Gary's TV Studio Tower most of the time.
Sweater
Sweater was the last one to fall in, and the easiest one to convince to join their little cause. Contrary to the others, Sweater was the one who found the group, running into and getting scared of them soon after dropping into Cyber City. However, despite being the easiest one to manipulate, Sul finds Sweater the hardest one to get through in the group since Kinder and Dollie seem to always have it at arm's length. In the few moments Sul managed to get a word in with Sweater, he has realised the potential the little man has if they ever get thrown into a sticky situation, as Sweater still has his Thorn Ring with him.

Talk
-
[About yourself]
- Oh, my manners.
- Names Sul. I run the place.
- Feel free to browse to your hearts content.
- We have all kinds of new and alternative miracle cures for the miserable and the hopeless.
- And, if you're neither, at least I'm sure you'll find something you didn't know you needed.
- [Cyber City]
- Neat place, I suppose.
- I've seen better. Perhaps if its ruler wasn't such a shut-in, things would be a little better.
- Must be good to be up there. All comfortable. Not a care in the world.
- Well, perhaps not. I doubt he has little to worry about.
- Regardless, how about some vitamin gummies?
- [Pharmacy]
- I was always a man of the healths.
- I was the face of a supplements company once.
- Bastards. Not sure what happened to them.
- But hey, now I got my own place.
- There are so many scams out there, kid. You gotta be careful.
- My place? Only the best stuff makes it in and out of those doors.
- [The Tower]
- Hm. Was never a huge fan of it.
- It's always... watching, despite not being able to go anywhere.
- But I would be lying if I said I never wondered about what was inside.
- I suppose it's normal.
- There are guided tours inside, but y'know how it is...
- ... they'd never let you see the good stuff.
- whatever that may be.
- [Inside the Tower]
- ... is that so?
- You've been in there? And met the man himself?
- ... hm.
- ... tell you what.
- Me and a group of... "friends", let's put it like that-
- -have been trying to break into the place for a while now.
- Might seem a little mean, I suppose,
- but there's something inside we want.
- Something that could help us a lot.
- And, since the two of us seem so eager to get in there,
- I propose a little... partnership! Here, just between the two of us.
- You go get me my colleagues, and I'll plan our little break-in.
- With your guidance and my experience, I'm sure we'll succeed this time.
- You can still come here and buy whatever your health desires...
- ... or just ask for help, if needed be.
- But I'm sure you'll do juuust fine.
- [Friends, before finding either Kinder or Dollie and Sweater]
- My colleagues, hmm?
- Just need you to go fetch 'em for me so we can put our little plan into motion.
- One of them should be in the outskirts of the city.
- He really doesn't like how bright and loud it is in here,
- so he'd rather stick to the quieter edges of the city,
- among all that fake foliage. Suits him well.
- The other two always stick together.
- Little scavengers prefer to go underground looking for...
- whatever it is that's down there.
- You won't be seeing ME going into the sewage system of the city,
- so I'm sending YOU down there to do all that dirty work instead.
- Start with one of those.
- [Friends, after finding Kinder]
- You found him? Good, good.
- He was always the muscle of the group, but so reserved.
- So quick to anger.
- I figured he was just scared. That's what all that growling and biting was. Fear.
- So, I got through to him with that in mind.
- Everyone wants to go home here..
- Speaking of which, you still have the other two to find.
- I hope this one wasn't too rough with you...
- ... hmm yeah, no , you should get a bandaid for that.
- Hope you have your shots up-to-date.
- [Friends, after finding Dollie and Sweater]
- You found those two? Nice.
- Dollface was the second one we found. Scared us both straight the first time we found her.
- Weird creepy doll....
- The other one was too easy.
- He practically ran into us, crying like a child.
- Everyone wants to go home here..
- Speaking of which, you still have the other one to find.
- I hope Dollface wasn't too rough with you...
- ... hmm yeah, no , you should see a psychologist for that.
- [Friends, after finding everyone]
- Yep, they all passed by here.
- Finally... we're all going home.
- ... how did I fall in?
- Too long of a story, kid.
- Not one for your pretty little head to be bothered about.
- Go ahead, browse to your heart's content.
- After you leave, we're closing shop.
- I'll meet you at the back entrance of the Tower. I have a spare.
- Me and my crew take the way to the basement and, in return, you distract security.
- And then... we go our seperate ways.
- Do your friend Sul a solid, hmm?
- When you go in there and you take that monster down,
- think of your friend Sul.
- You're gonna be making a lot of people happy, kid.

Trivia
- Sul is a character referencing the trope of healer characters in games, more so in multiplayer first-person shooter games. However, he's also a spin on the same trope, being an extremely manipulative and selfish person, qualities that aren't usually seen in healer characters.
- For that same reason, it is speculated that he's a direct reference to Medic from Team Fortress 2, who is a healer class but played with an evil and deranged spin.
- Despite Sul's job in the healthcare sector - regardless of how shady it is - he's the worst example to follow. He's a sucker for fast food and candy, indulging in it himself despite of how bad it would look for his health and wellness centered brand.
- Despite being extremely manipulative, Sul still follows the healer stereotype, being the most knowledgeable in how healing items and armor work in his group.
- Despite not having voice acting, many voiceclaim ideas have been offered for characters if the player were able to hear them speaking fluently in-game. For Ben, the voiceclaim offered was of Matthew Lillard, who's known for playing William Afton in the "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie.
