Missy Paint

Missy Paint, sometimes written as MissyPaint or just referred to as Missy, is a shop owner for the MixerMilkshakes shop, located in the Dining District in NEO City.

Her shop can be found in both routes of the game, though it is more active and necessery during the Outsider Route.

Profile

Appearence

Missy Paint is a small female presenting Darkner. She wears a white and blue sleeveless dress, the top split in half down the middle, the right half white, while the left is blue. On the blue half, there are three square gems lined in a column; the gems are red, green and yellow from top to bottom. Her skirt is knee-length, blue with a rainbow apron on the front, and a belt of the same color with three lines on the front. Their hair is in the shape of a blue artist palette with three dots on its right side; red, green and yellow, much like the gems on her dress. Despite the odd solid shape of her hair, she seems to have her hair parted to the right, covering part of her forehead and eyes.

Her skin is white and glossy looking, minimalist but shiny. Her hands seem to have her fingers connected except for her thumbs, similar to the shape of a mitten. Her face is round and smooth, only displaying a pair of closed navy eyelashes. Her legs end in small, round stumps, her form seemingly balanced on those.

Personality

Missy Paint conducts herself calmly, almost detached. Despite her intentions not being clear, she serves Kris and the party like any other show owner would. She appears to be knowledged on the NEO City and its inhabitants, but also on Ben, remarking on how he's always running the railway system, calling him an "odd figure". She seems to know a lot about Ben and some of the people inside the tower, though how she obtained this knowledge is kept a secret through most of the game.

Main Story

Chapter [[GARY]]

At the beginning of the game, Missy Paint can be found as a shop owner in the Dining District, doing nothing but selling items to the player. She's the only shop the player can find before choosing to pick a specific route.

In the Outsider Route, the player can return to the Mixer Milkshake, where Missy Paint is. At the mention of Kris and the party being kicked out of the TV Studio Tower, Missy divulges more information on Gary and Ben, mentioning how Ben used to visit the shop sometimes when he was younger, hinting at the fact that Ben used to be allowed to walk around the city freely at one point. She also divulves trivia information on Gary and Ben and their relationship together, painting them as a small but happy family.

[SPOILERS AHEAD] In the Insider Route, it is revealed that Missy Paint was a Darkner, or maybe just a soulless vessel, for Gary to keep an eye on Ben while he was outside the TVStudio Tower. It is implied then that during the Outsider Route, the player was actually talking to Gary as they talked with Miss.

Relationships

Gary

Is aware and speaks highly of him. Missy seems to echo Ben's praise for Gary, describing him as a great ruler and dad. It's unknown at first how she seems to know so much about the man. Eventually it is revealed that Missy is simply an empty vessel Gary controls to keep an eye on Kris during the Outsider Route.

Ben

Speaks of him as am odd thing. She claims to recognize Ben from how often she sees him working at the railway system. She describes him as an "odd thing", always thinking. If talked to enough, she'll describe him as a "good boy", someone trusting and kind, specifying how she sees those qualities as positive.

    • Our leader, ruler of this city.
    • His light shines brighter than the metropolis itself.
    • What a kind man, so willing to give to his subjects.

    • An offer to stay by his side is something few people would refuse, young one.
    • Though I'm afraid he won't let you in now.
    • Not after that stunt you and your party pulled up there.
    • Party? Oh, forgive me. I merely assumed.

    • He used to come here when he was younger.

Trivia

• Missy Paint is clearly based off of the Windows 7 UI, specifically its version of MS Paint. She shares that aesthetic with Ben, whose character design also revolves around old Windows UI.
• Furthermore, knowing that she was made by Gary hints at the fact Gary made her specifically to look similar to Ben, hoping he would trust her enough to be around and speak to her.
• It is also worth pointing out that if Missy was intended to be a love interest or confidant to Ben created by Gary, she bares big similarities to Swatch, also being an art program with a café shop.
