Daisy

Daisy was an employee for Joey Drew Studios as a choir singer for the Music Department. During her time working in the studio, she was there to see the Ink Machine getting installed and the growing quantity of GENT Corporation staff in the building. She became acquaintances with one of the GENT workers that frequently worked in the Music Department, Isaac. She worked for the studio up until its downfall, being turned into an ink creature like most of the workers inside.

As an ink creature, she lost her voice and ability to emote. Her face stuck in a cartoonish grin. She lives by herself, scavenging for food and shelter inside the studio.

Profile

Appearence

Daisy is a humanoid ink creature with a feminine built. Her body is completely black and seemingly made of ink, the only exception being her face, which is white. Her face is oval with protruding cheeks and a small chin. Her eyes are in the style of pie-cut eyes from old 1920s cartoons, always squinting and with two small eyelashes on their outer sides. Her nose is small and slightly turned up, her mouth stuck in a round, toothy, segmented grin. Her black hair is styled with two bangs by the sides of her face, curved upwards in a chubby moon shape. The front part of her hair is completely brushed to one side of her face, making a pompadour shape before curving upwards on the side of her face, held together with a yellow headband. The back of her hair is brushed back, curving upwards as well just below her shoulders. Two black horns float above the sides her head. Her limbs are thick and non-segmented, somewhat in the rubberhose artstyle. They’re black and covered in constantly dripping ink, similar to her legs and tail, her hands big with sharp fingertips. Daisy’s tail is a long black shape, starting thicker at the base and thinning into an arrow shape at the end.

Daisy wears a yellow headband with a matching long vest or sleeveless dress. The garment has a line that separates it down the middle, a white stripe running alongside the W-shaped trim of her clothes. A white bowtie hangs from her neck.

Personality

Daisy is a curious but cautious person; she ends up being very elusive and hard to get a hold of out of having a hard time trusting people after the studio fell into madness. Once a warm open human, the constant stress of escaping monsters and the loss of her ability to emote at all coated that warmth under a thick layer of paranoia. She’s a hard person to get a hold of at first, but as she gets used to faces and other people, to at least trusting being in the same room as someone without the fear of immediate death, her paranoia and uneasiness can be overturned.

Story

Studio Days

Daisy was born April 17th 1906 in the US, finding work at Joey Drew Studios once the studio began its first expansions, hiring people to form its Music Department.

She began working at the studio in late 1930 as part of the choir singers for some of the music for the animated shorts. From angelic melodies to trickster tunes, she enjoyed being a part of something so unanimously loved by children and grown ups alike. Daisy was there to experience the first major changes around the studio. Like the rest of the Music Department, she was just as confused as everyone else as to why an animation studio needed so much piping; in the walls, the floors, inside people’s offices. She knew the animation team behind the cartoons themselves was also hiring new people, but she still doubted a team like would need that much ink constantly flowing through the integrity of the studio. That’s when all the GENT workers started showing up; interrupting their recording sessions with loud banging the constant breaking of pipes flooding their recording booths. To say she wasn’t upset would be lying, she was upset. Despite everything, she’d grown attached to these little cartoon characters enough to pout at the idea of having her work interrupted, even if it meant getting a few minutes for herself.

One day, she managed to catch one having a lunch break at the same time she was. Despite the inconvenience the GENT boys had been causing, Daisy still wanted to be cordial… or maybe was too curious not to snoop in. She found one of the bigger men munching on some sandwich, his free hand doodling on the napkin he’d used to wrap his lunch. She quickly asked what the man was doodling, almost giving him a heart attack; the big guy jumped like a scared cat from the suddenness of her voice. She eventually got him to show the crude little character he’d been doodling on a napkin. Not one of the studio ones, just some mindless doodling that turned into an idea on a napkin half-soaked with sandwich juices. Without a name for the toon, Daisy decided to name it “Mr.Flex”; it was such a crude, angry little guy; big horns with a toothy snarl. She eventually started chatting with the man; his name was Isaac, an immigrant from overseas who came to the land of the free to find a better job. They formed a quick bond over the sudden interaction, quickly becoming acquaintances, even friends.

After the Fall

With the falling of the studio and the fate that cursed everyone inside, Daisy lost sight of her friend and now wanders through the studio, paranoid over who or what she’ll have to run away from next. Part of her believes he might be looking for her too. Maybe they've crossed paths already and she doesn't know. She's too worried to try her luck with any of the monsters roaming the halls.

Relationships

Isaac "Mr.Flex"

Honestly forgot about him for a while. Despite their sweet little moment of humanity, the horrors of the studio coated most of Daisy’s memories in layers of paranoia and fear; she couldn’t recognise anyone anymore, at least not from looks alone. However, as Isaac slowly began to earn her trust, she’d eventually figure out who the hulking demon had once been. It was THE Mr.Flex.

Beast

Used to be terrified of him until he just became annoying. The demon lord crawled out of his hole in the wall to patrol the inky hallways he calls his domain. However, the more she managed to escape from his grasp, the less she grew to fear him. Beast became this roaming figure that, despite all knowing and all powerful, no longer earned the terror that used to take hold of her. Once she started keeping an eye on that Isaac guy, how both hurled insults at each other without so much as a second thought like kids fighting in the playground, that fear decreased to simply caution.
