- Sweater

Sweater is a Darkner from Cyber City. He's a mini-boss exclusive to the Outsider Route, being accessible only if venturing into the sewer system of Cyber City. He's one half of a mini-bossfight, accompanied by Dollie.

Sweater is also part of a small group of people who have been wronged by Gary, leaded by Sul. With the help of the player, they break into the TV Studio Tower to use Gary's portal machine to return back to their original Dark Worlds.

Profile

Appearence

Sweater is a very small Addison-looking Darkner. Like his name hints at, he wears an oversized grew Sweater, the sleeves covering his hands and dragging behind him. He doesn’t seem to wear any pants, as his knee joints are visible, but his feet are shaped like pointy sharp heels.

His skin is white and segmented like a doll’s. As previously mentioned, the only visible ball joints are on his knees. Sweater’s face is skinny and pointy, with protruding cheekbones and a long sharp nose. His teeth are sharp and yellowed, eyes grey and always with eye-bags. His hair is long and fluffy, reaching around his knees. It is naturally white, but painted black from his shoulders-down.

Personality

Sweater is a tremulous and soft-spoken; a scaredy-cat who hides behind a bigger enemy to keep himself safe. He's very used to his own comfort zone, and despite being willing to get out of it for a while, he always returns to it at the end of the day. He's genuinely very easy to scare or hurt, so he'd rather hold onto someone else for as long as he's out of said comfort zone.

Main Story

History

Spamton's shop was open for business as usual, a new face sticking by his side like some loyal guard dog. Word got around that Lightners were in the city, so Spamton had to be ready to get their help with his plans. This could finally be his chance to be a big shot. However, it seemed like the Lightners had other plans. As they followed them around the city, the salesman noticed how the two Lightners were freezing citizens left and right, one clearly pushing the other to proceed. Even more so, they had... something that belonged to Spamton, which was odd. It was odd since Spamton still had his ring, so he had no idea where or even HOW that Lightner had gotten one exactly like his own. Regardless of it, he now had to get to his goal with another type of urgency: to prevent these Lightners from ruining a city that could be his. However, before he could get to his prized new body, his new friend got to it first, afraid Spamton wouldn't be enough to stop those monsters. Unfortunately, neither was she. Spamton, in a panic, fled from the mansion with his friend's empty body in hand, seeking shelter in his little shop from the freezing cold. With his shop as the only lukewarm haven in the city, Spamton was forced to stay inside, praying someone would come for them, or that his friend would somehow wake up... Since the salesman slowly froze over, only little Sweater remained, caring for his friend, who he hoped one day would wake up from her cold slumber.

Chapter [[GARY]]

The player can venture down into the sewage area of the city, long concrete tunnels that run all under the city. Enemies were scarce if not none in this area. The further into the tunnels they went, the more the player would find patches of ice and snow covering parts of the concrete. During this walk, Ralsei would speak to Kris about how weird this whole situation was. A Dark World without a Dark Fountain was practically unheard of, but the more they looked, the less likely it seemed that a Dark Fountain existed here at all. Ralsei tries to brainstorm how that would even be possible, or perhaps, how else a Dark Fountain could manifest itself if not in the usual way. If it wasn’t the usual pillar of flowing darkness they knew, what else could it look like? What other shape would it take? Before he could continue this thought, Ralsei and Kris were chased deeper into the tunnels by someone following behind them. Eventually, they reach a dead end and find themselves cornered by two Darkners, one quickly engaging in combat with them. After a quick CHECK, the player learns these are Dollie and Sweater, the other two members of Sul’s “team” who they’re supposed to recruit.

Dollie and Sweater are a duo mini bossfight exclusive to this route. If defeating any of them through FIGHTing, the other one would stop the battle to defend the other. If defeated through ACTing, Sweater will be the one stopping the battle regardless, begging Dollie to stop fighting as well. Regardless, Kris will be prompted to explain Sul’s plan to Dollie and Sweater. Realizing they can trust them, the duo decide to follow along, giving Kris one of two items before running off to presumably meet Sul at the pharmacy. If defeated through FIGHTing, Kris will receive the Doll Scarf from Dollie; a black and purple scarf, the thread screams. If defeated through ACTing, Kris will receive the IceBreaker; old desaturated glasses, the lenses damaged by frostbite.

Relationships

Gary

Supposed enemy. Like most people, Sweater never met Gary in person, but like many others, believes Sul when he tells him the man is the one responsible for all of their problems. He would never fight Gary, worst case scenario he'd throw an attack his way to save somebody else, so he'd rather keep his head low.

Sul

Reluctantly letting him lead him and their little group. Unlike Kinder and Dollie, Sweater isn't of much practical use to Sul and his plans, not having Kinder's strength or Dollie's stealth, leading to Sweater feeling like a burden sometimes. Sul actively belittles Sweater sometimes, trying to keep it away from other Darkners in their little team. However, unlike those same people, Sweater knows that Sul himself doesn't see him as useful, but knows the Darkner still has his Thorn Ring, which could be a useful weapon if anything in their plans goes awry. Sweater is extremely reluctant to let anyone use his ThornRing, seeing the effect it had on his own timeline, but he fears that if the time comes, he won’t have a say in it.

Kinder

Brute force of the team and fellow somewhat Addison Darkner. Kinder immediatly took a liking to Sweater, seeing him as a little fragile thing that needed to be protected. With Dollie seeing it similarly, and Kinder already having a decent friendship with her, they both somewhat took it upon themselves to protect Sweater.

Dollie

Reminds him of his own lost friend. Both Dollie and Sweater clinged onto each other since they reminded each other of someone they'd lost due to Gary's meddling. They have the closest bond in the group, rarely leaving each other's side, being the only duo mini-boss in their route.

In-Battle

Attacks

In battle, Sweater is the less aggressive one, following behind Dollie only to assist her, which makes him easier to spare. His attacks are very minimal ice themed bullets that go along with Dollie’s more complex attacks. Some of Sweaters's attacks are:
